Hi! My name is Tessa Barcelo (any pronouns), and I am a writer of many things. I'm currently a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University studying Writing Seminars and English, but I'm originally from Massachusetts. When I'm not writing, you can usually find me at some sort of rehearsal, playing guitar in my room, or ranting about authentic representation in fantasy to my friends.

I produce and release my own music.
I did my senior research project on how authentic representation of marginalized identities in fantasy literature affects readers' perceptions of those identities.
I'm obsessed with maps, cemeteries, Taylor Swift, and anything Victorian.
I once won a national songwriting competition and my song got submitted for Grammy consideration.
I'm the proud owner of a slowly growing stuffed dragon collection.
I've won many Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, including a National Silver Medal.
